WILDLIFE EMERGENCY FUND

Our Commitment to Conservation

Supporting the Wildlife Emergency Fund (WEF)

At DCM Surfaces, we believe that creating better outdoor environments goes hand in hand with caring for the natural world. This commitment extends beyond the spaces we build, which is why we proudly support the Wildlife Emergency Fund (WEF) — a South Africa–based conservation charity dedicated to protecting vulnerable wildlife and responding rapidly to crises on the ground.

OUR ETHOS

The Wildlife Emergency Fund is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to the urgent protection and rescue of endangered and vulnerable wildlife in Africa.

Our mission is to respond rapidly to wildlife crises—whether caused by natural disasters, human conflict, habitat destruction, or poaching—by providing immediate funding and support to on-theground conservation teams.

By bridging the gap between emergency response and long-term conservation, we aim to safeguard threatened species when they need it most and ensure a future where wildlife can thrive in their natural habitats.

  • Emergency funding for urgent rescues and field operations

WEF focuses on fast, effective action — ensuring that help reaches the animals exactly when it is needed most.

The Story Behind WEF

The Wildlife Emergency Fund was co-founded by Beverley Holden, a Director at DCM Surfaces, in partnership with conservation specialist Dereck Milburn. WEF wanted to ensure that every donation went directly to real, measurable impact — not administration, overheads, or unclear channels.

To guarantee this transparency and efficiency:

  • Dereck is the charity’s only employee, working directly in the field with conservation teams, reserves, vets, and anti-poaching units.

  • All funds are channelled straight into front-line conservation work with full visibility of how every contribution is used.

This unique structure is what makes WEF different: donations go where they truly matter — to the animals.

Why DCM Supports WEF

Our partnership with the Wildlife Emergency Fund reflects DCM’s commitment to meaningful environmental impact.

We support WEF because:

  • It delivers real, immediate, life-saving results

  • It protects endangered species such as rhinos, elephants, and cheetahs

  • It strengthens local, community-led conservation

  • It aligns with our belief in sustainability and responsibility

Through ongoing contributions, we help WEF carry out essential conservation work year-round.

A Shared Vision for the Future

At DCM Surfaces, we create spaces that inspire and support healthy outdoor living. Supporting WEF allows us to extend this ethos beyond the built environment — into protecting natural habitats, restoring ecosystems, and safeguarding wildlife for generations to come.

This is more than a partnership.
It is a commitment to making a difference where it truly counts.
